Tha Clay Coloured one

the moon turned grey

the ground turned white

the wind changed directions

the dunes were ready to move

the camels trotted on in the moon light

the silver lining was there on the ground then

when the tunes of the harmonium made here dance

wearing a ghungroo she danced

pranced

and made the tribe forget

the journey gone behind

The beedi was gone

the smoke was still there

the fire was burning

and there stood she

in her dancing toes

killing time

killing the cold

i was there

looking at the clay coloured woman

the lady

the girl

the enchanted

the enchantress

the eyes looked on

meeting every other pair there

the old were jealous

the young looked on

the music moved on

the caravan moved on

she stayed there looking

the music played on

the place moved along

while she stayed on.
