IT Electives are given to students here to ...well..make them aware of the ongoing 'developments' in the cyberworld..so to speak. So when i was asked to fill up my option for my Elective, i took something called "Introduction to Internet" which, as the name suggests should have been something related to 'introducing us to the internet'..( i guess our professors have no idea how much we already have been introduced to it!!! ). So much so, that even wen i had an option to change my elective, i chose to stick by it..trying to show my faithfullness to what has been my companion since Day 1 here in KGPP.
And what can i say..I was not alone..a head strong 128 students had enrolled into the course having no idea at all what was gonna hit them.
and well...what we got was something which is a dream of every IITian..in a sense..well, cutting to the chase..our Prof.C.R.Mondal was somebody whom we could call a person with a 90 degree neckbone!!..always looking either downwards on the keyborad or book..or looking up on the screen. I think to prove us wrong sometimes, he just looks at us with a "Who is talking...??" followed by his now-famous "could u spread out a bit.."(i think he picked it up while doing one of his bedroom rituals with his wife!!)
and well...the best part comes here..he takes attendence at about 5 mins before the class is over. Till 10 mins before the class is over, the class has about 30 students (even this might be exaggerated!!) and when he starts taking attendence, the class is buzzing with people!!!
Magic???..NOT QUITE.. the secret to this trick(which has been perfected by us IITians over the years) lies to the open door which is near the benches in the class..a whole Hoard of people wait outside the class when he starts taking attendence and as soon as he does..his 90 degree neckbone doesn't allow him to see towards the door letting in students like mad cows in!!....
some of u might be wondering where the hell did all the study portion go..well..there are people who try to suck into what all this honey bee could provide but the real study goes into his website which incidentally he had provided in his initial lectures itself leaving us nothing to come to class for...
And if u are still wondering what do people actually do if ever they attend a class..well..herez wat happens...
this is the 3rd row of the class if u won't believe it...
another view of the same row..
and people who enjoyed a good night's sleep in their rooms..well..they do something worthwhile here..
Mr. Maiti here is completing his lab record here... [:P]
and ohh....how can we forget the magic trick that i was talking about??,..well..herez a little something of it..
and this is the sneaking tom Mr Abhishek Satpati getting ready for his Grand Entrance into the room...just checking whether the proff is ready for him or not.. :)
and well..i guess that the same story is repeated in some class or the other somewhere in this huge institute..atleast thats what students like us would wish for...

ummm...crosswords???
hmm...
well..worth a smile atleast..[:P]
so even the dark angel likes it...hmmm :)
omg! i think this is the same abhishek satpathy who was from my ex-school.. well, i didn't know him but i had heard about him since he was a senior :O
well, hilarious!! AWESOME pic! it's a chori-pakdi-gayi type pic hehee.. the same happens in junior college too.. here the only difference is that most of the teachers take the attendance in the first 5 mins so the class teams with students in the first 5mins and then a lot of ppl sneak out the doors aftre responding to their roll numbers :))
well i m frm a different institute all toether (NIT) but its fun to hear abt same stories with sum minor details changed, frm a fellow sufrrer of boring classes..:))
